20 Bible stories paired with fun cooking activities for children. A creative, engaging way to teach kids the whole Bible story. Perfect for families & groups.
What if learning the Bible could smell like freshly baked cookies?
What if the story of Abraham's promises, the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand, and the resurrection of Jesus could be taught not just with words on a page but with flour on the counter, laughter in the kitchen, and something delicious at the end?
That is the wonderfully creative vision behind Bake Through the Bible — a book that brings together 20 Bible stories and 20 cooking activities in a way that makes the whole storyline of Scripture genuinely memorable, deeply engaging, and genuinely fun for children and families.
You do not need to be a good cook. You just need to be ready to have fun — and to watch your child encounter the Bible in a way that goes far beyond the Sunday school classroom.
Every parent and teacher who has worked with children knows the same truth: children learn best when they are actively engaged. When they are doing something with their hands, when all their senses are involved, when learning is connected to an experience they enjoy — that is when truth really sticks.
Bake Through the Bible is built on exactly this insight. Each of its 20 Bible stories is paired with a specific cooking activity carefully chosen to reinforce the main teaching of that story. The connection between the cooking and the Bible truth is not arbitrary or superficial — it is thoughtful, memorable, and designed to help children carry the lesson of the story with them long after the cooking is done and the food has been eaten.
This is not just Bible teaching with a cooking activity bolted on. It is integrated, multi-sensory, experiential learning that uses the act of cooking together as a genuine vehicle for engaging with God's Word.
One of the most distinctive and valuable features of Bake Through the Bible is its commitment to taking children through the whole storyline of Scripture — not just a selection of favourite stories or moral tales, but the complete arc of the biblical narrative from creation to the new creation.
Children who work through this book will not just learn individual Bible stories. They will develop a genuine understanding of how those stories connect — how each one is a chapter in the one great story of what God is doing in the world through Jesus Christ.
This whole-Bible approach gives children something far more valuable than a collection of Bible facts. It gives them a framework for understanding everything — a big picture within which every story, every promise, and every person in Scripture finds its proper place and meaning.
Every one of the 20 chapters in Bake Through the Bible follows a simple, effective, and family-friendly structure:
The Bible Story Each story is told in a clear, simple, and engaging style that is accessible to young children without losing the substance and truth of what Scripture teaches. The storytelling is warm, vivid, and carefully crafted to hold a child's attention and communicate the main teaching clearly.
The Cooking Activity Each story is paired with a specific cooking activity that reinforces its central truth. The activities are creative, achievable, and genuinely enjoyable — designed to be done by a child with a parent or caregiver alongside them, without requiring any advanced cooking skills.
Discussion Questions While cooking together, parents and children are given specific questions to discuss — helping the conversation go beyond the surface of the story to its deeper meaning and personal application. These questions make the cooking time a genuine opportunity for spiritual conversation between parent and child.
The Simple Recap Once the cooking is done and the food is ready to enjoy, a simple recap helps consolidate what has been learned — giving the child a clear, memorable summary of the Bible truth they have encountered. Enjoying the food they have made becomes a moment of celebration and reflection on what God has done.
The creativity and thoughtfulness of the cooking-Bible connections throughout the book give a flavour of what makes it so special:
Each activity is carefully designed to make the Bible truth it illustrates tangible, memorable, and personally meaningful for every child who experiences it.
Bake Through the Bible is ideal for:
One of the most reassuring and important things about Bake Through the Bible is its accessibility. The cooking activities are designed to be achievable by any family — regardless of cooking ability, kitchen equipment, or culinary confidence. The point is not culinary excellence. The point is time together, truth shared, and memories made around the Bible story that shapes everything.
You do not need to be a good cook. You just need to show up, roll up your sleeves, and be ready to have fun with your child as you journey together through the greatest story ever told.
Children forget lectures. They forget worksheets. They forget information that is simply told to them without any connection to experience or emotion.
But they remember making cookies with their parent on a Tuesday afternoon and learning about Abraham's promises. They remember the empty bread tomb at Easter and what it meant. They remember the picnic wraps that reminded them of a hillside in Galilee where five thousand people were fed by a boy's lunch and the power of Christ.
Bake Through the Bible is not just a cookbook with Bible stories. It is a memory-making tool — a way of weaving the great truths of Scripture into the fabric of ordinary family life so deeply and so joyfully that they are simply never forgotten.
